Demetri Martin has been everywhere lately. He’s the star of movies (Taking Woodstock), TV shows (Important Things With Demetri Martin), and he’s even written a book.  But whether or not he has you believe it, Demetri Martin is a comedian, first and foremost. Now the “hipster comic” is bringing his act to the historic Wiltern. And I thought most comedians were nerds.

On his Comedy Central specials, Martin would often








divide his act up into three parts. He would perform a regular stand-up routine in the first section, spouting out hilarious one liners like, “I bought a new pair of pajamas with pockets, which is great because now I don’t have to hold things when I sleep.” While the second and third parts proved to be less than traditional, and incorporated ukuleles, drawing pads, and other humorous visual aids. What can the average person expect from Martin’s show at the Wiltern? It’s probably best to answer this question in the form of a question, “Comedy?”
