Free things to do in Los Angeles
So what do you do if you are in LA and are tight on your budget? You could still soak up a lot of the city. Here is a list of some of the free things you can do when you are in Los Angeles.
You could go to the beach, which is what Los Angeles is famous for, among other things. Los Angeles has over 75 miles of shoreline and you will never be found wanting for a beach in your near vicinity. Some of the best beaches you can visit with little or even no money at all include the Venice Beach (you get a real eyeful of sunbathers of both sexes here!), Cabrillo Beach (famous for its tidepools) and the Surfrider Beach (which lets you do exactly what its name suggests).
Los Angeles is the place where the rich and the famous live. So how about walking on the places where they frequent? You could amble along the Mulholland Drive, which is full of lookout points from where you can take in the great beauty of the place. You can also take a walk on the Hollywood Walk of Fame where you could go up to the Hollywood Boulevard.
Another place that you can visit for free is the Griffith Park, which is often called by locals as Los Angeles’ truest family picnic spot. Visit this place and you can see some of the best activities that you can do with your family here. If you are looking for a cheap shopping experience, go to Rodeo Drive. Even window shopping here is an unbeatable experience!
There is actually an overabundance of museums in Los Angeles, and if you knew, you could visit some of them for free. Almost every museum has free days and you can make the most of them. One of them is the Norton Simon Museum which is free on the first Friday of each month. Another museum you can visit is the LACMA (previously the Museum of Television and Radio) which is free on every second Tuesday of the month.
