As ever, the arrival of Beaujolais nouveau is being celebrated at a number of jolly events throughout SoCal, all of which go down after the legally mandated time when the new vintage can be consumed (midnight on the third Thursday of November). The latest monomaniacal food truck to hit the streets is The Hungry Nomad, a spin-off of LA’s numerous Armenian Sasoun Bakeries – which themselves are spin-offs of the Sasoun Bakeries run by the Yeretsian family in Lebanon and Syria. The truck’s specialty is lahmajun, which some people refer to as “Armenian pizza” – and in many ways it is.
