Trolling through Travelzoo’s deals today, we noticed a ton of great hotel rates over Thanksgiving but one that struck us was this $89 rate for The Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles’s Koreatown.
The deal sounds rather amazeballs, if you will. This includes an upgraded room with floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the iconic Hollywood sign, along with two for one breakfast daily, $7 off parking and complimentary WiFi. The only thing is, we’ve never heard of The Wilshire Hotel before. That’s probably because it used to be a …

What a girl wants is apparently a good hotel. Christina Aguilera, last seen in Hawaii at the Waikiki Edition, has been coping with the recent divorce in the best way that celebs can–by hotel hopping.
Paps spotted her outside the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles with her son, Max, a couple of assistants and some luggage. She’s reportedly been shacking up at the hotel while her husband sticks around their house.
Even though we think Christina would do fine in one of the hotel’s superior rooms (their starting room category) with …

The reality TV competition, America’s Got Talent, is known for providing wacky, bizarre, and sometimes frightening entertainment week after week but this past weekend, during the show’s audition process at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, things went horribly wrong. TMZ reports that a contestant, Joe Finley, who was auditioning for the show, is now a person of interest in the death investigation of his wife.
Laura Finley was found at the bottom of a stairwell inside the hotel on Saturday morning by another hotel guest. It is believed …

While one bride may never recover from the closing of the Hotel Bel-Air for renovations last year, other brides can now get started on the Save the Dates for their Summer 2011 wedding.
The luxury property, a Dorchester Collection Hotel, announced yesterday that after 222 months it would finally reopen in July 2011.
The Hotel Bel-Air was in desperate need of renovations so we’re mighty eager to see how the design teams of Alexandra Champalimaud and the Rockwell Group blended the traditional and historical aspects of the Bel-Air, which longtime guests …

The LA hotel scene has definitely been quiet, almost sleepy, when compared to the nonstop action of NYC. So when we hear of a new hotel–even if it’s just an extensive remodel or rebranding of an existing one–we get super excited.
The latest hotel to enter the market is the Jamaica Bay Inn in Marina del Rey. This is actually an old Best Western that’s getting an extensive reno to transform itself into a “beachfront resort-like setting” and to transport guests to a faraway Caribbean resort.

Each guest room is a …

One of the things we were always torn about with the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles is that only guests were allowed inside the lobby area. All other visitors were directed through to a separate entrance–where the award-winning Bazaar Restaurant from José Andrés is located.
While we liked that the SLS offered guests privacy in the lobby area, we were also a bit hurt because the lobby is not just a check-in spot with a couple of couches and tables but a place where guests could dine and drink amongst …

The Custom Hotel near LAX is one of our favorite airport hotels not just because it’s close to the airport but also because it’s stylish, comfortable and totally affordable. So why would someone want to steal something so important from a good-hearted hotel like the Custom?
We don’t have that answer but we do know that the hotel’s little “mascot”, a (not real) black sheep by the name of Little Pepper has gone missing and the hotel wants it back. Check out these missing posters they’ve circulated for Lil’ Pep. …

The best action from Sunday’s 62nd Emmy Awards took place inside the Staples Center (regardless of what you thought of the rest of the show, the “Glee”-inspired intro was amazeballs) but on the red carpet is where paparazzi and fans get the chance to glimpse their favorite celebrities in all their done-up glory.
Yet, this guest at the JW Marriott at LA Live scored an incredible view from the 19th floor looking down directly over the red carpet. We can’t tell if this is a room view or a corridor …
